For an old hotel the decor was amazing, awesome breakfasts and even though we did not have dinner there it looked and smelt amazing. Staff very helpful and definitely value for money.
definitely the sevice, and what the hotel offers
the food was not halaal
Clean, friendly and peaceful surroundings, felt content and safe. Staff was well informed and very accommodating.
The chef/s were polite but their friendlyness was not in harmony with the rest of the staff. If it was windy the doors tend to rattle.
Nice people, breakfast & pool
it was comfortable, i enjoyed my stay at the Lady Hamilton.
The hotel was very convenient in terms of location. The rooms were clean and of good size. The street is quite but there are numerous restaurants in the neighbourhood. It was a really good value for money to stay at Lady Hamiltons.
The location of the hotel is amazing - we felt safe and happy to go out in the local area at night to the nearby bars and restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we liked that free tea and coffee was provided all day long, even though there was no kettle in the room. Rooms were very basic, but the value for money was fantastic so no complaints there! We only used the swimming pool once - it's small and freezing but nice for relaxing on a sunny day.
Not really the fault of the hotel but other guests tended to be very noisy - we were woken up most nights at midnight-ish by people coming home and again between 6 - 7am when people got up...I think the walls are pretty thin! The internet was very expensive - far cheaper to head onto Kloof Street to the internet cafe.
24hrs tea and coffee supply, clean rooms and toilets.
The bedroom door opens to main corridor which means any nose affects you and affects the quality of the stay.
The staff were very helpful when I wished to change my room. The breakfast was excellant and the location was ideal for my purposes. Overall the staff from the manager down were friendly, helpful and efficient.
Some of the rooms are not ideal for a longer stay and hence my desire for a change. I would have prefered to be able to make tea or coffee in the room rather than collect it in the dining room, but there was always a choice available at any hour which I did take advantage of.
My initial room had no working light in the bathrtoom, I was immediately transfered to another room, the staff were very helpful and efficient.
The staff especialy Justin & Ayanda nothing was too much trouble, the location was very good next to table mountain & a short ride to the V&A waterfront. The food in the restaurant was pretty good a different variety at times, bar prices ok and everyone had a smile. This hotel is ideal for a budget holiday in Cape Town .
A night time curfew would have been good as there were two groups of people worse the wear for drink shouting and slamming doors most nights, and early mornings. The hotplates could have been hotter as some of the breakfast food was cold , I did speak too the management who promised too look into it.
The consistent helpfulness of the reception staff and the very comfortable 'feel' of the hotel. Convenient for the centre of Cape Town without all the hassle and cost that goes with being right in the middle
Loction of the hotel was excellent - we were travelling without a car and it was an easy 15 minutes walk to the city center. The room was standard, nothing special. Breakfast was pretty good.
Don't expect anything fancy, it's a standard 3 stars hotel in a good location for a fair price.
The bed was amazing, the breakfast was excellent. The personnel is very friendly. It seems not very far from the center.
Nothing besides the breakfast is included. Parking is not free, but that's ok. What really disappointed me was that they took lots of money from me even for local calls. No tea stuff in the room unlike in other hotels. The stay is too expencive for that sort of hotel.
The staff was very friendly and really made you feel welcome there.
